ASIC Physical Design Engineer

Location: Sweden

(Initial fully remote working during covid and then partially on site in the future)

Role Overview:

As a Digital ASIC Physical Design Engineer, you will work in close cooperation with talented colleagues developing future sensor systems to meet future demands for the systems. You will develop sensor technology with focus on the physical implementation of the digital parts. In the ASIC team you will get in touch and be involved in all aspects of ASIC development flow. From ASIC system design, RTL implementation, block and system level verification, synthesis & layout to GDSII and wafer production test.

To succeed in the role as a Digital ASIC Physical Design Engineer you need to master synthesis, digital place & route, static timing analysis and need also to be able to support, develop and drive improvements of the physical design flow and process.

You will be given opportunities to be part of a team that is responsible for all aspect in HW design, a design that are used by millions every day. As a member in the design team you will have a large possibility to affect the work and the final product by your own ideas. You are also most likely to use your drive and commitment to implement your ideas together with your colleagues.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent scientific discipline
  • Hands-on experience in physical design, timing closure and solving congestion problem
  • Excellent understanding industry standard tools for place & route and signoff flows
  • Expert in scripting languages (shell, Perl, TCL)
  • Good knowledge in digital ASIC/FPGA design and verification is a plus
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English.
