Standardization Expert (3GPP)

Standardization Expert (3GPP) Initial 12 month freelance contract + extensions Remote working from Europe, once per month travel to Leuven, Belgium The role requires familiarity with wireless communication technologies and standard developed by 3GPP, and experience in wireless communication research and attending 3GPP standardization meeting as a delegate. We are looking for a 3GPP Standardization Expert/Delegate, who will be responsible to be a delegate to attend one of the 3GPP WG meetings, including RAN, RAN1, RAN2, RAN4, RAN5, SA1 and SA2. His/her primary focus will be the improvement of our client's Terminal's leadership in the 3GPP by involving in the technical discussions and the communicating with other major companies. The successful candidate will work alongside researchers, domestic standard delegates, engineers, and developers, who contribute on different aspects of the project. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem-solving, advanced design methods and the creation of quality products are essential attributes. Responsibilities: Attending one of the 3GPP meetings including RAN, RAN1, RAN2, RAN4, RAN5, SA1 and SA2 as a regular delegate. Communicating with global telecom companies including operators, infrastructure/terminal/chipset vendors for the industry information and views sharing. Strategy development and planning for the standardization, and influencing the standardization strategy and timeline in 3GPP. Pushing the requirements from the produce line and the techniques output by the research team. Recognizing new opportunities, risks and potential topics to research team and product team. Understanding of the overall business picture in order to provide strategic advice to R&D and standardization teams. Working with multiple departments, coaching and mentoring other team members to a strong standard to consistently achieve best practices. Reporting directly to the Director (European Standardization & Industry Development) based in Leuven (Belgium), though with European oversight, including the UK. Qualifications and Skills: Knowledge of wireless communication technologies and standard developed by 3GPP. Experience and expertise as a 3GPP delegate. Ability to understand business requirements and translate these into technical requirements. Good communication skills, especially intercultural communication. Desirable soft skills: adaptability (including culture-sensitive outlook), written and verbal communication, time management, stress management, conflict management.

Smart Mobility Standard Industry Development Expert

Smart Mobility Standard Industry Development Expert Initial 12 month freelance contract + extensions Remote working from Europe, once per month travel to Leuven, Belgium Responsible for CCAM-related standard industry work and insight and management of EU/national projects. CCAM: Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility Job Requirements Overview: This position requires a deep understanding of the smart mobility field in the European Union and major European countries, including policies related to intelligent connected vehicles. The ideal candidate should have substantial industry experience in this field and a keen insight into the overall development trends of the automotive industry. The primary focus of this position is to build the ecosystem for smart mobility in Europe. This includes participation in CCAM series meetings, extensive engagement with industry partners, and internal coordination with relevant product lines to encourage active involvement in CCAM-related EU and national projects, along with project follow-up and management. Detailed Responsibilities: Lead our client's strategic planning in the CCAM ecosystem, establish communication with European and domestic related product lines and research teams, formulate CCAM participation strategies, and drive their execution. Lead and coordinate with industry partners (vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, etc.), government agencies, and research institutions. Participate in CCAM-related industry and academic conferences, closely monitor the industry and technology trends in the smart mobility field, including intelligent connected vehicles, write insightful reports, and provide feedback to product and research teams. Collaborate with related departments within our client according to the operation mechanism of EU and national projects, organize applications for CCAM-related EU and national projects, and be responsible for project management and progress reporting upon winning the projects. Monitor policies and regulations related to smart mobility in the EU and various European countries, and provide insights. Actively explore new business opportunities, research resources, and partners in the European smart mobility field. Qualifications and skills requirements: Profound expertise in the field of smart mobility, including automotive perception and decision-making technologies, automotive safety technologies, vehicle-to-vehicle communication infrastructure, etc. Strong experience in standard organizational operations and industry ecosystem development. Ability to understand business needs for product development and research and translate them into technical requirements for standardization and product development. Adaptability to a multicultural work environment and strong interpersonal communication skills. A master's or doctoral degree in engineering, automotive, computer science, or related fields.
