Senior Buyer Public Procurement - Construction & Infrastructure (demolition, groundworks & relining/sewerage works)

As a Senior Buyer you are responsible for the preparation, implementation, and follow-up of a number of large infrastructure projects and other purchases in accordance with the Public Procurement Act.

The assignment:

This means, among other things, that:

• You analyze the internal customer's demand and compile the specifications based on questions and input from the users;
• You determine the selection and award criteria and are responsible for the purchasing technical input, always in consultation;
• You start the tender process based on the chosen procedure;
• You evaluate the quotations in consultation with users and internal customers;
• You negotiate the best conditions with suppliers;
• You prepare the award report in consultation with users and internal customers;
• You are the point of contact for users and internal customers regarding advice about suppliers, problems with suppliers and/or current contracts, editing of files, application of government procurement legislation;
• You closely follow changes in government procurement legislation;
• You will be part of the public procurement team and as a senior buyer you will take on the role of mentor and coach of the other team members.

Required knowledge and skills:

• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, more specifically in the domain 'Works' such as: Construction & infrastructure (demolition, groundworks & Relining/Sewerage works),
• Interior works and Technical works (electricity, HVAC, Fire protection, Sanitary, Lighting).
• You are familiar with the most common procedures of public markets and have a sound knowledge of government procurement and are familiar with EPC methodology.
• You are driven by achieving results and believe in our credo "underpromise and overdeliver".

• You are resultsoriented and feel like a fish in water in a team.
