Network Engineer


Network Engineer Position

We are currently looking for a specialist Network Engineer to work for our market leading IT services client based in Brussels, Belgium.

Below are the requirements needed along with the job description.

Languages: French and English

Flexible working 2-3 days remote/onsite (Brussels)

Network Engineer profile with +3 years of experience in a LAN / WAN / WiFi network infrastructure context and Datacenter network.

Technical skills required:
L2 / L3 Network operation (Cisco routers and switches Catalyst, Prime, SD-WAN, Juniper, management of OBS, Colt, Proximus operators)

1. Foreign exchange exploitation
Contribution to the Acceptance process
* escalation process
* critical review of HLDs
* critical re-reading of DEXs
Technical implementation of Changes
* qualification / criticality of Foreign Exchange
* Integration of changes in the tool
* Exchange planning
* Drafting of DIP (detailed action plan)
* Participation in CAB bodies
* Implementation of Changes
* Management of possible third parties
* Update of technical reference documents and associated databases
* Update of DEX

2. Problem and incident management
Incident / crisis management
 Guarantee the MCO (changes, incidents, problems, capacity management, etc.)
 Proactive monitoring of monitoring tools
 Resolution of incidents level L1 to L3
 Writing of incident reports
 Mobilization of resources and management of possible third parties

Problem management
 Root-cause analysis
 Contribution to the definition of sustainable solutions

3. Asset management

 Update assets in the CMDB
 Obsolescence management
 Maintenance management
 Inventory

General knowledge of the network and security infrastructure - 3
ITIL - 2
Cisco technologies (Catalyst, Cisco routers, Cisco Prime wifi) - 2
BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VPC, VSS - 2
SD-WAN - 2
Fortinet Security - 1
Supervision & collection of logs (Spectrum, Cacti, Nagios, Splunk) - 1

Key code for above :
 3: Advanced => Confirmed expertise and significant experience
 2: Confirmed => Specialist with confirmed technical knowledge
 1: Junior => General practitioner with basic knowledge

Attention points:
* must be ready to work in shift for certain days (sometimes, a start at 7 AM is required, sometimes at 9:30 AM)
* A standby services is also required 1 week out of 6.
* Long term mission with contracts every 6 months.
