Software Architect

Primary Objectives

This role is for a Software Architect within the Software Group in Assisted and Automated Driving, this is a critical for delivering AAD software technologies across multiple present and future software projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design of the Software and Functions related to AAD Design and Architecture
  • Software Design - the specification and design of systems and their components to meet defined needs, retaining compatibility with software architectures.
  • Delivery of software and sub-systems within ADAS domain
  • Assist and contribute to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by Customer, Function Requirements and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Provide technical support and assistance across the operational team on topics relating to the integration and harmonisation of multiple interconnected components including issue resolution and objective data analysis
  • Supporting development of projects through the V model, PCS Milestone Plan and Electrical Processes
  • Implementation of technology, design, demonstrators, models, and validation strategies
  • Engagement with supplier base for the AAD implementations including budget planning and forecast
  • Engagement with key project stakeholders around the business to gather requirements, development and integration

Key Knowledge

Essential:

  • Significant Software Architecture experience
  • Model Based Language expertise (SysML) and Engineering Delivery Frameworks
  • Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance
  • Knowledge and overview of Tool-sets, release processes, requirement, and issue management (AIMs, RMDV, CORVUS, ASL, Snapshot)

Desirable:

  • Multiple Software Language skills (C, C+, Python, Java, etc)
  • Experience in Automotive Engineering Delivery and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
  • Experience with software architecture tools

  • Significant knowledge of systems architecture and associated technologies
  • Significant experience of Software Development Life Cycle and associated processes
  • Good verbal and written communications
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
