Test SME - Data Migration
London, City of London| Contract - Inside IR35| Hybrid (2-3 days onsite)
Our client is a leading global bank building a new Data Office team in the City of London. We are seeking a highly skilled Test SME on a contract basis, offering a competitive day rate of up to £450 per day (Inside IR35). This is a unique, greenfield opportunity for a hands-on expert to shape our CLIENTS data migration framework from the ground up.
The Role
This role is for a seasoned professional to own the testing phase of our data migration projects. You'll be responsible for the full testing lifecycle—from developing a robust strategy to executing detailed test plans to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our data. You'll also work closely with our Data Analytics and Innovation teams, exploring how AI can enhance our data quality and migration processes.
Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive test strategy, and then execute all testing phases, including functional, system, and user acceptance testing.

Data Quality Assurance: Use data profiling tools to identify and fix data anomalies, ensuring all data quality standards are met throughout the migration.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison between technical and business teams, ensuring requirements are understood and reporting on progress and outcomes.

Problem-Solving: Utilize your technical skills to investigate data-related issues, identify root causes, and recommend improvements to processes and controls.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in data migration execution and testing, preferably within the banking or financial sector.

Proficiency with ETL tools(e.g., Talend, Informatica, SSIS) and Data Migration services(e.g., AWS DMS, Azure Data Migration Service).

Strong SQL skills and familiarity with database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).

In-depth knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality principles.

The ability to manage and prioritize work on multiple projects simultaneously.
