Title: Product Analyst – Interest Rate Derivatives (Banking & Finance Domain)
Location: London
Duration: 2 months contract (pat cover)
Job Type: Hybrid (3 days onsite and 2 days remote)
Overview
We are seeking a Product Analyst with deep expertise in the Banking and Finance domain, specifically in Interest Rate Derivatives. The candidate will be working with the Front Office (Trading and Trade Execution Support), looking at improving processes and workflow.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of product structures, participant roles, business functions, and operational processes. This role requires a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Gathering & Analysis
- Elicit and document functional and non-functional requirements in the form of user stories.
- Uncover tacit knowledge, identify unknowns, and assimilate relevant business and technical facts.
- Break down complex business requirements into smaller, actionable components with clear value and ROI.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage cross-regional stakeholder relationships and ensure transparent communication.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to ensure prioritization and alignment with business goals.
- Clearly articulate problem statements and proposed solutions in simple, concise language.
Agile Delivery & Planning
- Participate in all Scrum ceremonies including planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Refine requirements with developers and agree on incremental, sprint-wise delivery plans.
- Maintain up-to-date Jira boards to enable accurate dashboards and MI reporting.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Leverage SME knowledge to support unit, system integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Collaborate with QA and development teams to define test cases and validate outcomes.
- Drive UAT cycles, gather evidence, and coordinate releases within agreed timelines.
Design & Configuration
- Work with development teams and solution design authorities to ensure adherence to sound design principles.
- Understand and support unique business configurations within software applications.
Communication & Reporting
- Ensure timely, accurate, and transparent communication of progress, risks, and issues.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders and ensure the Product Owner has full visibility into ongoing workstreams.
Governance & Standards
- Uphold quality standards and ensure compliance with established processes and best practices.
Objectives of the Role
- Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable user stories with measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate with development teams to estimate, plan, and deliver incremental value.
- Ensure continuous alignment with Product Owners and stakeholders through proactive communication and early escalation of impediments.
- Drive delivery through structured planning, rigorous testing, and stakeholder engagement.
- Drive process improvement, control and streamlining of BAU tasks for business users.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with PowerBI, Python or SQL
- Experience working with large data sets
