Job Specification: Portfolio Managers (x3) – Insurance Delivery
Sector:
General Insurance | Location:
Hybrid (London or Surrey) | Duration:
12 Months (Right-to-Hire)
A Leading UK Insurance Group
is rapidly scaling its internal change function and is seeking three highly experienced, delivery-focused Portfolio Managers to lead critical strategic streams.
This is a robust 12-month contract
with a clear Right-to-Hire
option, offering long-term stability and the potential for permanency.
The Mandate: Hands-On Delivery
Due to the client’s lean, flat structure, this role requires Portfolio Managers who are immediately hands-on. You will not be focused solely on high-level governance; you must be comfortable diving into detail to unblock projects and ensure successful delivery across your portfolio.
Scope: Manage 3–5 concurrent change projects within your dedicated stream.
Team: Direct line management and mentoring of 2–4 Project Managers.
Focus: Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality change across a demanding regulatory and business environment.
The Three Specialist Portfolios
We are seeking expert leaders for the following distinct delivery streams:
1. Digital Delivery Portfolio
Core Focus Areas: Leading transformation projects focused on customer-facing platforms, online policy servicing, digital sales channels, and user experience (UX/UI).
2. Data Delivery Portfolio
Core Focus Areas: Managing complex programmes involving data migration, data warehousing, BI/Analytics platform development, and regulatory reporting infrastructure.
3. Insurance Operations Portfolio
Core Focus Areas: Driving core operational change, including claims systems updates, policy administration (PAS) overhauls, and process optimization across the insurance lifecycle.
Required Profile
Proven experience as a Portfolio Manager or Senior Programme Manager, specifically within the Insurance or wider regulated Financial Services sector.
Demonstrable track record of leading delivery in a hands-on capacity (not purely governance).
Expertise aligned to one of the three portfolios listed above (Digital, Data, or Operations).
Experience managing and mentoring direct reports (Project Managers).
Logistics
Start Date: ASAP (Candidates available immediately will be prioritized).
Location Flexibility: You can select a primary office base of either London or Surrey.
Work Pattern: Hybrid model, requiring only 1–2 days per week attendance in your chosen office.
