Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled MES Application Manager to lead the management, maintenance, and optimization of our Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). In this role, you will oversee the performance and functionality of MES applications, ensuring they align with business goals and manufacturing needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the MES environment, providing expert guidance on software configuration, system integration, and data management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • MES System Management: Lead the overall management of MES systems, ensuring their availability, performance, and alignment with manufacturing processes.
  • Configuration & Implementation: Oversee the configuration, integration, and deployment of MES applications. Work with engineering and IT teams to ensure seamless integration with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, SCADA, PLCs).
  • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Provide expert support for troubleshooting and resolving system issues, working with vendors or internal teams to ensure timely resolution and minimal production disruption.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously monitor MES performance and recommend improvements to optimize workflows, data collection, and reporting capabilities.
  • User Training & Support: Lead training initiatives for plant operators, technicians, and other end-users on MES functionality and best practices. Provide ongoing support and user assistance.
  • System Upgrades & Enhancements: Plan and manage upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations to keep the system up to date with technological advancements and changing business needs.
  • Data Integrity & Reporting: Ensure accurate data collection and reporting through MES, working closely with the business to define key metrics and deliver actionable insights.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with IT, production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to ensure the MES system meets business requirements and drives manufacturing excellence.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure the MES system complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Maintain proper documentation of system configurations, changes, and upgrades.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the management of MES or similar manufacturing applications (e.g., SAP ME, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens Opcenter).
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial automation, and data management.
  • Experience with system integrations (ERP, SCADA, PLM, etc.).
  • Proficiency in MES software and databases, including SQL.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and digital transformation in manufacturing.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Project management experience, including managing system upgrades and enhancements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in MES or related manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based MES solutions and IoT technologies.
