Role Overview:
- We are hiring an Installation Supervisor/Commissioning Engineer for onshore activities in Antwerp, Belgium.
- This role focuses on supervising the installation and commissioning of advanced Telecom and Security systems from leading vendors such as Cisco, Genetec, and Ziztel.
- The successful candidate will ensure all systems are properly installed, tested, and commissioned in compliance with safety and technical standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Supervise on-site installation activities for telecom and security systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and technicians to ensure proper sequencing and execution of installation and commissioning tasks.
- Perform hands-on commissioning of systems, including Cisco networks/telephony, Ziztel PAGA, Genetec access control, AESYS signage, JOTRON VHF, and Trelleborg marine solutions.
- Conduct functional and safety tests on installed systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure optimal system performance.
- Verify installation quality and ensure compliance with vendor specifications and engineering drawings.
- Prepare daily site activity reports, commissioning logs, punch lists, and other relevant documentation.
- Interface with client representatives and engineering teams to provide status updates, flag issues, and align on deliverables.
- Ensure availability and proper use of required tools, PPE, laptop, and software for on-site activities.
- Enforce and adhere to local and company-specific HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards at all times.
Essential
Skills:
- Proven experience in supervising the installation or commissioning of telecom/security systems.
- Hands-on expertise with systems from Cisco (network/telephony), Ziztel (PAGA), Genetec/HID (ACS), AESYS (signage), JOTRON (VHF), and Trelleborg (marine).
- Valid VOL-VCA certification or equivalent (SCC-17).
- Must have own laptop, required software, PPE, and toolset.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Valid medical fitness certificate and passport.
- Eligibility to work in Belgium (A1/Limosa/VISA as applicable).
- Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Attention to detail and compliance with safety protocols.
- Communication and team coordination.
- Independent problem-solving.
- Ability to manage field reporting and documentation.
Preferred
Skills:
- Prior experience working in Belgium or similar EU sites.
- Familiarity with industrial commissioning documentation standards.
- Basic Dutch language skills for safety communications.
- Ability to adapt quickly to site-specific technologies and procedures.
- Proficiency in any other European language is a plus.
