System / Application Administrator

Initial 6-month contract + extensions afterwards

Hamburg / Remote working (4-8 days per month onsite in Hamburg)

ASAP Start

We are looking for someone to take over tasks in the transfer of a complex application landscape from VM based to containerized architecture.

Your responsibilities

  • Define and analyze application landscape which is underlying production
  • Define and analyze database landscape supporting applications in production
  • Identify and introduce maintenance processes/improvement
  • identification and implementation of technical work packages
  • independent take over technical work packages
  • We collaborate with our IT with focus on:

  • Priority: Docker (swarm), Kubernetes (orchestration) (MUST HAVE -> 6 months experience)
  • Priority: MSSQL 2017 and 2019 (MUST HAVE)
  • Windows 2016, 2019, .NET (NICE TO HAVE)
  • VMware, ESX, Hyper-V (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana for application and database monitoring (NICE TO HAVE)

  • Cooperation with software development team to introduce new systems into operations
  • Planning and execution of application migration within secure environments
  • Cooperation with service provider to ensure that all infrastructure and network requirements are met (availability, reliability and security)
  • Execution of ITIL processes

Your Profile:

  • Master/Bachelor in Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or similar education with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing of IT applications in highly available environments,
  • Profound knowledge of application and database migration operation
  • Able to see the big picture
  • Good organizational and team collaboration skills
  • Good time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize
  • Fluent in English and German (desired)
  • Comfort with ambiguity, agile environments or unpredictability
  • Self-motivated, autonomous and taking initiative
