ConSol Partners has been tasked with finding A Solutions Architect.
Lending has started a global transformation journey, with significant investment to fundamentally transform their platforms. This will provide their customers and their staff with industry leading platforms with open architecture design, API and micro services, data insight / Machine Learning, and will operate on Cloud where possible. They will also use latest technology, data insight, and tool set to support the significant growth ambition of the commercial bank.
The key responsibility of this role is to define the appropriate solutions for Wholesale Credit and Lending Transformation initiative and then ensure developments adhere to design principles and solution blueprints. This role focuses on the Corporate workflow platform.


Recent banking experience as a Solutions Architect is a must.

The Role

  • Ensure design provides a solution to the functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., Cybersecurity, performance, entitlement, and all deviations formally documented and agreed with functional parties.
  • Defines solutions by designing proposed systems with attention to system integration, scalability, feasibility and support ambition to automate all deployments/testings, e.g., defining microservices physical structure and functional capabilities, security, and recovery specifications.
  • Using tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product.
  • Maintains performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions.
  • Provides support by coding utilities, champion adoption of the industry best practices within the engineering team.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational properties by; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organisations.
  • Defines and implements a sustainable operating model for technical activities in Technology teams, business teams, which is aligned with the DevOps target operating model, and ensuring that interfaces and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood.
  • Being responsible for team mentoring and reporting to the Architecture core team.
  • Always reach out to other part of the team facing similar challenges to share/learn best practices.
  • Demonstrate leadership on Regulatory & Compliance matters. Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance.

The ideal Solutions Architect will have the following sills and qualifications.

Key experience

  • 8+ years of experience in IT.
  • At least three years as a technical lead or architect.
  • Experience in building high level proposals e.g., clear choice, and articulating the pros and cons in business term to ensure conscious decisions are made.
  • Experience with analysing requirements and providing fit for purpose solution designs following best architecture practices.
  • Ability to manage proof of concepts, exploratory projects to identify, evaluate and eventually adopt most suitable solutions.
  • Experienced of close collaboration with engineering teams providing technical guidance and best practices.
  • Effective communication skills, graphical, written and verbal for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with agile methods, along with having found limitations and ways to overcome them.
  • Should be able to support the domain architect with running technical architecture reviews.
  • Experience in architecture, design, and implementation of highly scalable, highly available cloud services and solutions.

Key technical stack requirement

  • Experienced with Java, modern development frameworks and development CI/CID pipelines.
  • Familiar with architecture and leading technology stack such as docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in designing and developing workflows, User Interface applications, decision rules and data model.
  • Experienced in designing internal/external APIs in secured manner in cloud and in on-prem environments (e.g., with mulesoft runtime).
  • Experience in applying the right design patterns for cloud and hybrid architecture (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Experience on designing integrations using technologies like Kafka, Pub/Sub, REST, and message queues.


Following experience would be preferable but are not mandatory:

  • Usage of monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Splunk, NewRelic
  • Working with Confluence, JIRA, git, Jenkins, Cloudbees, Sonar or similar tools used for collaboration and continuous integration.
  • Familiarity with modern engineering practices and Architecture standards
  • Experience in Credit and Lending area of business
  • Relevant Cloud Certification
  • Experience with BPM tools and/or low code platforms
