The Enterprise Platforms Manager will:

  • Manage the team effectively to achieve optimal performance and consistent operational delivery.
  • Continue fostering a customer service culture within the team and ensure buy-in and process knowledge among our key stakeholders while raising customer satisfaction awareness.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to help others develop and achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Workplace Technologies Manager, the Technical Portfolio & Project Manager and wider technology teams. This is in order to deliver corporate cloud and on-premises infrastructure transformation through improvement projects and initiatives that utilise best-fit, cost-effective solutions, using consumer, small and medium business solutions, and moving away from traditional enterprise scale models.
  • Proactively manage the end-to-end computing capacity, availability, security, and performance of technical infrastructure platforms and end-user computing.
  • Evaluate technology, market trends, and industry, as well as identify potential business impact.
  • Strategise which software, hardware, or legacy systems can be updated or replaced to reduce exposure to security risks or to better support business operations.
  • Establish operational level agreements (OLAs) with Service Management and the wider Technology department.
  • Play a key role in providing technical leadership for major incidents and problem management teams. Be accessible for technical escalation of technology related events and problems as necessary.

Skills and Experience:

  • Expert understanding of the Microsoft stack, including but not limited to Active Directory Domain Services, Active Directory, Certificate Services, Active Directory Federation Services, Active Directory Rights Management Services, Azure Active Directory, and PowerShell.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Azure products, such as, Compute, Containers, Databases, DevOps, Identity, Integration, Networking, Security, and Storage.
  • Excellent working knowledge of O365 services, such as, OneDrive, Exchange, SharePoint, Yammer and Teams.
  • Hands-on experience with L2/L3 switching (Cisco Catalyst and Nexus) along with OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP, VLANs, VDC, VPC, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Good working knowledge of IT security standards, frameworks and regulations including but not limited to ISO27001, PCI, DSS, NIST, CIS Controls, GDPR and Cyber Essentials. * Extensive experience designing and documenting technical infrastructure designs as part of the Systems Development Lifecycle Process.
  • Working knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions to those of a non-technical background.
  • The capability to produce complicated technological solutions within constrained timeframes.
