Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure engineer x 2 (Junior and Senior)

THE COMPANY

A Leading IT Service Provider working for a leading name within the Transport sector.

THE ROLE

As an Infrastructure engineer you will be providing support for the monitoring and maintenance of the internal IT Workstations and Servers

Required skills:

Microsoft Servers and Workstations administration (at least Windows 8.1, 10, 2012)

- Active Directory

- Domain Controller

- Perform System Maintenance

- Server and process monitoring

- Server administration

- Remote Desktop Services

- Hyper V, DNS, VPN

- Installation, configuration, backups and upgrade MS Windows OS, Desktop applications

- Testing and deploying MS updates

- Command line tool, Power Shell

- User support

Database engine/SQL Server: (at least SQL Server 2012 )

  • Maintain database servers and processes
  • Monitor system's health and performance
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities
  • Run query's in addition to Database backups and replications

Experience with Virtualisation technologies:

Knowledge of networks in particular firewalls and Cisco technology

Knowledge of any of the following is considered a plus:

  • Java, Jasper Server, Web Apps - Apache tomcat - deploy and maintenance
  • JIRA, Remedy, Citrix,
  • Cisco Call Manager
  • Linux - basic knowledge commands and monitoring tools.
  • Video protocols - SDP, RTSP, VLC
  • PLC and/or SCADA exposure
  • SAN administration

The candidate:

  • Flexibility to work oncall and nights (shift basis)
  • Ideal candidates with possess their own transport and valid driving licence (Travel expenses provided)
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player
