Great South Run, ConSol Partners for Bloodwise charity

ConSol Partners consultants took to the streets of Portsmouth on Sunday 25th October to participate in Morrisons’ Great South Run. The team participated to raise money for Bloodwise, a charity which conducts research into the 137 types of blood cancer and supports those who have been affected by it, and a charity with whom ConSol Partners formed a partnership in March 2015.

The great cause, along with the sunny weather – and some adoring fans at the Finish Line – spurred the team on to finish the race without even pausing for a break. Their training and warm-ups paid off; they were back in the office the next day without a single ache or pain, much to the surprise of their colleagues! So far, over £550 has been raised by friends, family, ConSol Partners and the team’s colleagues, and we continue to encourage donations wherever possible.

Ryan Adams, Associate Director at ConSol Partners, showed his support for the team:

The team have done a great job in taking part in the Great South Run, and we’re all extremely proud of them! ConSol Partners is delighted to have Bloodwise as our charity partner, and keen to do as much as possible to raise money to tackle blood cancers. Raising money through sports’ activities also encourages our teams to be healthy and show support for each other, which is a great plus.”

It is not the first time that ConSol Partners staff have got physical for charity; just three months ago, a team of our finest cyclists hopped on the saddle to take part in a Bikeathon, also in aid of Bloodwise.

Caitlin Ashdown, Bloodwise Regional Manager (London & South East), said of ConSol Partners’ participation in the run:

We are delighted that Consol Partners has chosen to support Bloodwise by taking part in the Great South Run. Every penny raised will help us in our mission to beat blood cancer, stopping people from dying and making patients’ lives better.”

ConSol Partners promotes participation in physical activity for charity by allowing those who participate to flex their working hours in order to spend a longer lunch break in the gym, training for the Bikeathons, Great South Runs and whatever else we can do to help Bloodwise through sport. The next few months will see ConSol Partners participate in many other sporting and non-sporting activities to raise money for Bloodwise, including a Christmas Jumper day and several exciting food-related activities.
